Tim designed our official mission patch for ISS Expedition 11. We found Tim to be creative, prompt, very responsive to our suggestions, and attentive to detail. His designs are stylish, symbolic when appropriate, and rendered with great care and an obvious enthusiasm for space flight.

Tim and I have had a long standing e-relationship, where Tim has been so supportive of our space exploration efforts through his artistic talents. Every crew named to a flight into space can work with Tim to design the crew’s official patch for their mission. He is insightful, responsive, creative, and truly does his research to help best represent the character of each individual crew. In addition, Tim has used his talents to broaden the awareness of the populace, helping to educate folks on the wonders of our exploration and horizon broadening efforts. Unhesitatingly, I’d recommend anyone to seek out Tim for help in fulfilling their artistic needs.
While several artists inspired our team over the years, it was Tim who graciously provided a window of opportunity for us to have our work shown publicly. His encouragement, advice and knowledge gained from three decades of experience with design and art greatly helped us take our work in graphic design to a new level entirely. He will always be our “go-to” guy in the field and we look forward to working with him for years to come!
Tim was able to take our NASA team’s abstract ideas and artistically combine them into a logo that we all liked – not an easy task! He was very easy to work with as we churned through a couple iterations of details on the design.
Tim is a highly creative artist who always delivers. The Astronaut Scholarship Foundation has utilized his skills on several occasions and have always been more than pleased with the results. On a personal note, he is very personable and a pleasure to work with.
I first became aware of Tim’s work when the STS-120 crew invited him to submit designs for their crew patch. While his designs were well received, the crew eventually chose a design by another artist. However a number of my astronaut comrades did work with Tim to design their next mission patches.
When I was assigned to STS-129, our crew asked Tim to assist us with our mission patch. Throughout the design process, Tim was always receptive to our input and we eventually came up with a patch that was unlike any other. Tim is a great American!
